Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find the answers to commonly asked questions about trading with the HAT, however feel free to email us using the Contact Us form if you have any further queries.

Is the HAT fully automated ?

The HAT is more of a semi-automated "Assistant". It will take the trades & set stops, move profitable trades to break-even; let you know of the harmonic points; and can set a partial target automatically. However the final position is up to you to close as per your ability to hold for longer periods.

What software does HAT run on ?

The HAT runs on Metatrader 4 (MT4). There is currently no provision for other packages, however express your interest by contacting us and your charting/trading package may be added.

How does HAT help me manage the positions ?

The HAT can optionally "split" the position upon entry into UP TO 3 separate trades. In so doing, it can place a take profit on ONE of those positions, leaving you to manually take profit or add your own take profit targets based on the harmonic points it provides for you.
The HAT will also move profitable positions to break-even if you opt for it, thereby protecting you if you will be unavailable to do so yourself.
Stops are optionally moved one of two ways:
i) at a fixed pips in profit - eg, +25 pips, or;
ii) when the profit is equal to the risk - eg, stop loss is 30 pips, break-even will trigger at profit => 30 pips

Why can I not split into more than 3 positions ?

As an automated system, the HAT relies on having enough time to enter trades and place effective stops - if you were to ask it to open more than 3 positions it is likely that broker lag would cause too much slippage and harm the trades risk:reward.

How does the HAT weight position size ?

The HAT allows you to either fix the position size, or automatically calculate it based on your account size and your own risk requirements - eg, to risk 1% per trade, enter this into the HAT's parameters upon setup.

Will HAT single-handedly turn me into a profitable trader from a losing one ?

NO! If you fail to let the winners run and/or move stops out too far from where the HAT places them, you cannot be successful regardless of the type of trades the HAT takes.

How often does the HAT take trades ?

This really depends on the market itself, it can range from 5-10 per week, but be aware there can be days where zero trades will be taken, and this is OK.

Will HAT make every trade a winner ?

The HAT is not 100% successful and no single system should ever make you believe it possible. Where HAT excels is in putting you in trades where the reward is far greater than the risk, and thereby easily erasing a number of losses with a single profitable trade.

Does HAT take profit for me ?

If you choose to "split positions" on the trade, HAT will place a take profit on a single one of those positions.
